Sue Hart, (our chairman) has been quilting for many years, initially signing up to the Quilters’ Guild in its first year of formation but lapsed when other interests took over. However her twin sister, Carole, a keen quilter down in Bristol, persuaded her to take it up again and they both enjoy most forms of quilting but in particular modern, liberated quilting.
Sabine Best, (our treasurer) is a relatively recent quilter with only a few quilts under her belt so far. She loves to upcycle and produces quilts using not only new but many inherited and pre-loved fabrics that she finds in charity shops and at car boot sales.
Regina Al-Habib,(vice chairman) teaches textiles, including quilting. Regina is very knowable and often runs mini workshops in our group meetings. She has her ear close to the ground about all things to do with textiles.
Annie Folkard (webmaster), encouraged by a quilting friend, started quilting last year, but in another life, has a textiles background from years ago. She came back from a 3 week holiday in Australia, where she went to the Australia Quilting Convention in Melbourne, obsessed, with 3 quilts ready to be sandwiched and quilted. No stopping her!
Alison Lee our latest recruit, is taking over the role of membership secretary from Annie. She is a keen quilter. She also has an aunt who is a quilter, so the love of quilting and textiles would seem to run in the family!
